Basilio TFA - Andalusian Reference Stallion

Pure Spanish Andalusian (PRE) Stallion - Pura Raza Española

Gabeño x  Nobleza D (by Granadino XI 1978)

DOB: 04/21/2004  IALHA 8642 (S)

Progeny:

Basilio was sold in-utero to a repeat buyer, Ms. Julie Tupper, who bred our mare Nobleza to Gabeno (thus resulting in Basilio) and also bought a filly (Celtica) out of Keberes D.

As a young stallion, Basilio"Leo" certainly had class and could not be mistaken for anything other than a Spanish horse. He attracted lots of attention and when he was first shown in public at the IALHA Nationals, several people thought he was one of the Andalusians that Julie had imported from Spain.

Basilio is a gorgeous bay with near perfect conformation. Basilio TFA won the 2 and under colt class at the IALHA Andalusian Qualifying Show in Corsicana, Texas, April 2005. He was the only Andalusian yearling in the class and competed against several other large two year old colts. Basilio's dam Nobleza has a similar win to brag. Nobleza was a yearling when she competed against other two-year old Andalusians in the Spanish Class at Nationals and won second place with the first place filly being an older cousin.

I came home from work . . . not really expecting to find anything and when I pulled up at 11 pm there he was. All wet and just born - not even standing yet. . . What a sweet friendly guy we have here - and with good movement. Not a grey hair on his body. We hope he will stay that way. . . Basilio - means "Noble" in Spanish. (His dam's name Nobleza also means noble). ~ Julie Tupper
